About Us

Hi, my name is Reese, I’m a proud Wiradjuri woman living on Ngunnawal/Ngambri country and the face behind Nyiwarri Yarn.

I started knitting and crocheting at the age of 12 and am self-taught. From a young age I always wanted to start a business that would allow me to create things. I’ve always had a passion for fibre arts in particular which is why I created Nyiwarri Yarn, not only as a creative outlet, but to spread love for my culture - literally wearing it on your sleeve!

Nyiwarri, pronounced ‘Ni-wa-ree’ is a Wiradjuri word meaning sweetheart, or my love.

Nyiwarri Yarn started in 2023 and is the culmination of years of practising different fibre art techniques using various methods. My favourite ways to knit is using circular needles and a flatbed knitting machine.
